Letter from Harry to Effie Ehlers Fowler, May 2, 1966.

"Please pardon my delay in not responding sooner to your letter of April 12th. I have been trying to gather what information I could find regarding Uncle Henry's birth date."
"From a birth page in the old family Bible I find my dad was born in Wildeshausen March 31, 1845"
"I have been searching thru the archives at home but have not as yet discovered any dates of Uncle Henry's birthday. We have a copy of his book which I loaned to my brother Edward. (He corresponded with your Aunt Laura Hunter). Uncle Henry stayed with us at the time I believe when he was publishing the book."
"My father was 78 when he passed away. My mother 89 died in 1942."
"Julius lived with us for several months and Henry lived in Brooklyn. I heard they returned to Germany where they were born."
"There was also another cousin Henry (older than Julius and Henry). He fought in the Spanish American war and was later pensioned by the government and returned to Germany. I do not know where the tie in is pertaining to our group."
"I am working on a sketch of our family history and will have the data together before too long and will be pleased to forward a copy with completed. Have two brothers and a sister living, Edward and Arthur and Celia now 83 years old. I am 77 and still live in the house I was born in. I have to care for Celia as I promised my mother I would do. I retired in 1959."
" I am anxious to get this in the mail but will continue to correspond and enter into more personal information of our family."
"Kind regards to all, including Laura. Love, sincerely Harry Ehlers."
